Class of 2012
(Click on the photo to see the class list)
Tailored for busy professionals from all three sectors of our community (business, government and social profit), the
Leadership Waterloo Region program provides an opportunity for participants to explore their personal leadership
styles, practice leadership skills in a group setting, and learn more about the make-up of our community including
both its outstanding characteristics and the challenges it faces.
Each year between 20 and 40 applicants are selected to participate. The class comes together for a total of 10
weekdays and 2 weekends between September and June for a series of workshops. In addition, the class is divided
into work teams that each takes on responsibility for the completion of a project in our community. Class members
are introduced to our community's present leaders and join a growing network of program graduates, all of whom
are working to ensure the long-term health and prosperity of our community.
Leadership Waterloo Region's 275 alumni are heavily involved on more than 300 boards of directors and committees
in our community. In addition, some have elected to also serve in public office. We regularly link alumni with
leadership opportunities and we are pleased to make it possible for local Social Profit organizations to share
information with our alumni network.
